Be with them, not just for them.

Friendship is the heart of YIM: being with people, not only doing things for them. Here are four ways to walk alongside our students from wherever you are.

A mentor with students after a gathering

Mentor from anywhere.

Join a Doing Life Together group by video. Share your work, your faith and your failures with young leaders in Kigali or Bujumbura.

  • One video call a month with a small group
  • A YIM coordinator on every call
  • Twelve months, then decide together whether to keep going
I'd like to mentor

Walk alongside a school.

Pair your church, school or university with a YIM school in Rwanda or Burundi: letters and prayer through the year, and its student leaders sponsored to the Vision Conference.

  • Twenty students to the conference for $380
  • Photos and letters from your partner school
  • A short talk for your congregation or assembly
Start a partnership

Host a fundraiser.

Turn a birthday, a run or a dinner into Vision Conference seats. Every $19 sends one more student.

  • We send the story, the photos and the numbers
  • Your own page to share with friends
  • A thank-you from the students you sent
Tell us your idea

Partner with us.

Foundations and companies can fund a programme, a district or a year of school visits, with reporting that shows the change.

  • Our annual report and budget on request
  • Programme visits in Rwanda and Burundi
  • Clear, regular reporting
